NAS®

Aplication

Highly polluted wastewater is produced in a wide range of sectors. One of the main pollutants in this wastewater is nitrogen. The removal of nitrogen from waste water is a process that consumes energy and generates high costs.

The anammox processes, an abbreviation for "anaerobic ammonium oxidation", are the cost-effective and sustainable solutions to treat these highly polluted wastewaters.

The innovative technology, known as NAS®, is realized in many configurations to meet the treatment of both in-process and mainstream streams and the specific needs of each wastewater sector in various sectors such as:
  • Food and beverage industry
  • Treatment of the liquid fraction of the anaerobic digestion of sludge in urban sewage treatment plants (THIN FRACTION)

Process

Anammox microorganisms combat ammonium in an efficient way, shortening the conventional nitrogen cycle. This technology can be combined with others in many configurations:  MBR, SBR, ONE, MAS®. Each configuration has its own advantages and applications. In this way it is possible to supply tailor-made systems and apply anammox in a wide range of sectors.

Results

In the field of wastewater treatment systems, NAS generates global savings in operating costs. These savings are mainly related to the low energy consumption, the decrease in fuel production and the absence of carbon additives.

All technologies are equipped with cutting-edge aeration process control designed by the group to optimize the benefits of anammox application even faster.
